Flooret continues to offset and reduce carbon emissions with new products and initiatives.

SAN DIEGO, CA | April 22, 2022 – Flooret is proud to be Climate Neutral Certified for the third consecutive year, alongside hundreds of other companies that are committed to offsetting and reducing their carbon footprints.

Climate Neutral is the leading consumer label designating carbon neutrality. It is carried by brands that have voluntarily stepped up to take responsibility for the greenhouse gas emissions generated in the production, operations, and shipping of their goods and services.

By measuring and offsetting all of their 2021 carbon emissions and pledging to reduce future emissions, Flooret hopes to lead by example and encourage other brands in the building materials industry to do the same.

In addition to offsetting 9,921 tonnes of CO2 emissions in the past year, Flooret purchased carbon credits to further neutralize its footprint. These credits went toward initiatives that support the reforestation of the planet’s jungles and woodlands, promote wildlife protection, and implement clean energy practices around the world.

In 2021, as part of its Reduction Action Plan, Flooret announced the development of a new sustainable wood-based product. This year, Flooret introduced Silvan Resilient Hardwood, its latest collection made with FSC 100% Hardwood from sustainably-managed European forests.

Having a Forest Stewardship Council Certification means that Silvan meets the gold standard for ethical production. In addition to being responsibly sourced, Silvan’s ultra-dense, stable core utilizes repurposed sawdust that would otherwise be burned or thrown in a landfill. This new collection is another step forward for Flooret in its pursuit of being an environmentally-conscious building materials company.

"It has been an exciting year for us working on becoming a more sustainable brand. Between improving where we stock our product (thus reducing transportation emissions) and launching Silvan, our FSC-Certified wood flooring product that's made in Sweden (which has the cleanest electricity mix in Europe), we are moving toward our vision of building the most sustainable flooring brand in the world,” says Tal Atid, Co-Founder of Flooret.

Climate Neutral is a nonprofit organization working with brands and consumers to decrease global greenhouse gas emissions. The label, Climate Neutral Certified, is the universal standard in carbon neutrality. It is earned by brands who measure, offset and reduce their entire carbon footprint, making it easy for consumers to shop with concern for the global climate. Flooret was conceived as an alternative way to manufacture, source, and purchase flooring. When we started, the monopolization of distributors in the flooring industry had led to limited options and over-priced floors. We realized there was an opportunity to create a genuine brand with true values that was also accessible. Thus, Flooret was born with the simple mission statement: the best flooring products available, priced competitively. To learn more, visit www.flooret.com.
