Building a Barndominium with Kingswood Base | Kalyn's Story

Building a Barndominium with Kingswood Base | Kalyn's Story

When Kalyn discovered an old horse stable on her beautiful property, she immediately thought of its potential for her family.

Installing Vinyl Flooring in a Barndominium

Barndominiums are picking up popularity as ADUs (accessory dwelling units), in-law homes and fun hang-outs. They immediately give a lived-in, rustic farmhouse vibe since many of these cozy homes were previously real barns! Kalyn made these stables livable for her family while they renovated their main home, and the results are stunning!

“This project is unique, because it used to house horses, and now it houses our family!” Kalyn says. “After the renovation is complete and we move back into our home, we plan on using the ‘barndo’ for friends, family and future business opportunities and events.”

For a special place like that, only the best flooring would do.

Take a look at how Kalyn’s barndominium turned out with Flooret luxury vinyl flooring!

“We are very pleased with Flooret! We have installed LVP before and this product, hands down, looks the most like real wood. We would definitely use Flooret again!”

Kingswood Base stuns in a rustic farmhouse home

Kalyn chose beautiful  Kingswood Base, a golden oak luxury vinyl plank, for her barndominium. Her choice to use Base makes the barndominium floor look seamless and smooth. Base goes for $2.75/SF, which makes it a great choice for people who love the wood look of Modin but are accommodating a tighter budget.

Kingswood was the perfect color for this project - it compliments a variety of color palettes and matches both modern and rustic design styles. Kalyn’s distinct farmhouse style pairs beautifully with her vinyl floors!

“The floors look so real and the color is stunning! They warm up the space and offer us durability and the look of wood while staying within our budget!”

The vinyl flooring installation process

Kalyn had Kingswood Base installed by a professional.

“It was a breeze! One guy was able to complete the installation in just one day!”

Kalyn documented her entire process on TikTok and Instagram with helpful videos and tips. Not only did she order cut and plank samples, Kalyn used our room simulator to see how Kingswood would look in her space.

“It was fun to play around with the different color options and visualize them in our space before purchasing,” Kalyn says. “Flooret was super easy to work with and was always there to help answer my questions.”

We’re so happy that we could be a part of your barndominium build, Kalyn! Enjoy the farm times!
